Who we are

Mintachu (“we”, “us”) operates www.mintachu.com, a tool that predicts the grade a Pokémon trading card would receive and helps collectors find worthwhile listings. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at pokejavs@outlook.com.

Mintachu is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by PSA, eBay Inc., Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc., or The Pokémon Company.

What we collect

Account information

If you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address, and your name and profile image if you sign in with Google. We store your subscription tier against your account. We never see or store a password.

Payment information

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's systems and are never sent to or stored by us. We keep only the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers needed to tell whether your plan is active.

Card photos and analyses

When you ask us to grade a card, the photographs you upload — or the listing images you select — are sent for analysis to Hicap (hicap.ai), the AI gateway we use, which passes them to the model that performs the grading. Those models are currently Google Gemini, and OpenAI models where configured. We may change model providers as models improve, and will keep this page current. If you are signed in and save an analysis, the photos and the resulting report are stored against your account so you can return to them. You can delete any saved analysis at any time. We do not use your photographs to train AI models.

Usage information

We record the searches you run and the grading requests you make, in order to return results, apply plan limits, and improve accuracy. Where you are not signed in, usage limits are counted against your IP address.

Communications

If you email us or submit feedback, we keep that correspondence. If you opt into product emails we store your address and preferences, and every message carries an unsubscribe link.

Technical information

Our host and analytics tools record standard technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring page.

Why we use it

• To run the service — searching listings, predicting grades, and showing prices.
• To manage your account, subscription and plan limits.
• To keep the service working and secure, including rate limiting and abuse prevention.
• To measure which features are used, so we know what to improve.
• To reply to you, and to send product email if you have asked for it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

eBay listings and affiliate links

We query eBay's public listing data to show you cards for sale. We do not send your personal information to eBay when we do this, and we do not access any eBay account of yours.

Mintachu participates in the eBay Partner Network. Links to eBay listings carry a tracking tag, so if you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That tracking is operated by eBay under eBay's own privacy notice.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as your marketplace region, measure traffic, and attribute eBay affiliate clicks. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; sign-in will not work without the essential ones.

How long we keep it

• Account data — for as long as your account exists.
• Saved analyses and their photos — until you delete them or close your account.
• Cached listing and price data — hours to days; it is refreshed constantly and is not personal data.
• Analytics — as retained by Google Analytics and Vercel under their own schedules.
• Email correspondence — as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. You can delete saved analyses yourself from your account, and closing your account removes your profile and saved work.

If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights — note that we do not sell personal information.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and held by the providers listed above. Access to production systems is limited to those who need it. No service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

International transfers

Our providers operate in the United States and elsewhere, so your data may be processed outside your country. Where data leaves the UK, EU or EEA, our providers rely on recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Mintachu is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell account holders by email if the change is significant.
